Technically it’s officially fall, but please tell that to Southern California. We are in the middle of a heatwave – 90 degree temps with no relief in sight. So, as far as I’m concerned, it’s still summer. It’s still all about jean shorts, flip flops, and chilled wine. This was my first attempt at making boozy popsicles and I gotta say, I’m hooked. These are the perfect adult treat on a sunny day. Even Mr. BFT, who is not much a white wine guy, loved them. They are so easy to make, too. In less than 20 minutes I had all the ingredients blended and poured, ready for freezing. Oh, and if you’re worried if wine popsicles really do freeze? They do! As long as the wine doesn’t make up more than 50% of the mixture, you’re good.
Peach Sangria Wine Pops
One peach, peeled
1 Cup CK Mondovi Pinot Grigio
Half cup simple syrup
Quarter cup water
Triple sec
Chop peach and blend with about half a cup of crushed ice and a splash of triple sec. Combine with the wine and simple syrup. Evenly pour into popsicle molds.
Raspberry Rose Wine Pops
1 cup raspberries
half grapefruit, squeezed
half lime, squeezed
1 cup CK Mondovi White Zinfindel
1/2 cup simple syrup
quarter cup water
Place raspberries, grapefruit juice, lime juice, water, wine, and about half a cup of crushed ice into a blender and blend until smooth. Mix with the simple syrup and stir well. Evenly pour into popsicle molds.
Allow the popsicles to freeze overnight. Run warm water over the popsicle molds to help release the popsicles. Eat and enjoy! Remember, wine popsicles are only for adults age 21+, and still contain a lot of alcohol so please eat/drink responsibly.
