Happy new year! And what a way to kick off 2015 than sharing the official 2015 Alfred Angelo Disney Fairy Tale bridal gowns, including the much-hyped Elsa gown, now available in stores and to browse online. #WhatHappenedToAnna?
This is my favorite collection in a while, for a couple reasons. First, it seems like AA is doing away from the highly stylized photo shoots and now sharing images of models wearing the dress against a simple background, like most bridal websites do. (In fact, I think this is a trend we are going to see across the bridal world – more REALISTIC weddings, as brides are rebelling against Pinterest perfection.) Second, my biggest complaint with past year’s collections is that the gowns simply do not remind me of their namesakes. Not this year, where pretty much every gown is very literal, right down to a special color for each princess, with some colors seemed to be named directly for their princess (Ice Crystal, Glass Slipper Blue, Lily Pond).
One item of note is this seems to be the priciest collection yet, with the Tiana gown possibly costing around $2000! This is a big jump considering the highest price gown of the 2014 collection appears to be $1399. Still, with a number of gowns priced below $1500, including the Jasmine gown priced under $1000, the AA DFTW collection continues to be a great affordable option for most brides.
