Need some spooky Mickey ears for Halloween? These spiderweb ears are SO EASY. One of my easiest pairs of ears yet!

These ears were inspired by the Target dollar bins. I found this orange bow headband for $1 and thought it would make the perfect bow for a pair of Halloween Minnie ears. For a while I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do. I experimented with sequins and pipe cleaners, but nothing seemed right. I was staring at some ears when I realized they were round, almost circular. And so are spiderwebs …. duh. That was almost too easy. The rest came pretty naturally. What’s the best paint to use on black ears for Halloween? Glow-in-the-dark paint, of course! The glitter spider stickers were a lucky find at Michael’s. I was looking for those standard black plastic spiders and was going to spray paint them a funky color, but these little stickers seemed like a much easier route! I think this pair of ears turned out quite lovely … I mean, terrifying and spooky!

Step 1 – Cut your mickey ears from foam and glue them to the headband. See this post for detailed instructions and ears template.

Step 2 – Using the glow in the dark paint, draw an “X” on one of the ears. Then paint additional lines coming from the center. It should look like the spoke of a wheel. It doesn’t have to be perfectly symmetrical – in fact, most spiderwebs aren’t perfect, so don’t strive for perfection here!

Step 3 – Near the center of web, draw a “u” shape between two of the lines. Repeat all the way around the web. Then repeat in the middle of the web, then again at the outermost part of the web.

Step 4 – Repeat Step 3 for the other ear. Allow the paint to dry per instructions on the paint bottle. Once the paint is completely dry, flip the ears over and repeat for the backs of the ears. Allow the paint to completely dry.

Step 5 – For Minnie ears, attach a bow to the headband between the ears using hot glue. If you need to make a bow out of ribbon, I have a tutorial here.

Step 6 – Affix the spider stickers. I did one per ear, but you can do whatever you like!
