After Mickey, Minnie, and Donald made their exit, the party really got started! The lights came down, our special “starry night” ceiling lights were turned on, and the music was cranked up! I slipped out of my heels (which were actually super comfy, even six hours later) and switched to my pink sparkly Toms that were waiting for me under our sweetheart table.
We also took advantage of our DJ’s awesome photo booth!
They included a ton of really fun Disney props, and we also brought a few of our own (yes – I made a Walter-on-a-stick).
Once everyone got their booze refill, the dance floor picked up a bit.
At 4:00pm, The Roots came over to say their scheduled time was up and it was time to say “goodbye” to them! I insisted we take one of their signature mirror pictures, so after checking to make sure it was clear, we snuck into a men’s room for a quick shot.
(I think I was holding hands with Mr. BFT – kinda weird looking, right?)
The last hour of our reception flew by and soon our last song, Twist and Shout by The Beatles, was playing. Then there were lots of hugs and thank-you-for-comings and compliments on how great everything was. *blushes*
We tried to help our planners clean up but we were shoo’ed away. Our Disney coordinator Julie said all our personal items and gifts would be delivered to our room later that evening. I was sort of waiting for Julie to tell us that a golf cart would take us back to The Disneyland Hotel across the street, but it never happened! I felt super awkward walking across the street in my wedding gown, and Mr. BFT in his suit. But, c’est la vie! We made it back to the room and collapsed – literally! I got out of my gown and got straight into bed. I was exhausted but my mind was reeling too much to actually sleep, so I caught up on all of the wedding well wishes and photos posted on Facebook and Twitter. And Mr. BFT has just found out that morning that his boss was fired from the TV show he works on, so he was a little busy on his phone as well. Isn’t it all so romantic?
Next Up – The wedding day celebration continues with our super sweet dessert party!
(Side note – Happy four month anniversary to us!)
I loved walking around in my wedding dress after we got back to our hotel. There was a ton of guys at the hotel bar there and so they were buying us drinks! Haha, now I want to plan a vegas trip strictly so we can walk around and act like newlyweds and get free drinks!
Hmmm, you’re giving me some ideas … haha!
I loved the photo booth, it was a very nice touch. Walter made it in quite a few pictures 🙂 So I am very glad he got to partake in the festivities. I though your dance floor was just fine 🙂 and the little princess was adorable. hahaha so sorry she didn’t want to call you a princess bride 🙁 Again your lighting and décor was FABULOUS!!! I am glad that DTFW shoo’d you away but not without a ride!! I don’t blame you for feeling awkward. And I think on my wedding day I would just want to go back and pass out too!!!!! It takes a lot out of you. Love the mirror picture of the roots btw 🙂
I’m happy you had fun and enjoyed the photo booth!
Happy 4 months today! 🙂
I had such a blast at your wedding and I loved re-living every last part of it through your blog posts. Everything was amazingly beautiful and I’m so happy that I got to be a small part of it. I also agree with Becca – the photo booth and props were a lot of fun.
If I wasn’t parked in the GCH lobby tending to my blisters, I would’ve totally escorted you across the street saying, “congrats” and starting a slow clap in the hopes that people along the way would’ve joined along. 😉
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed everything. Sorry about your blisters! 🙁 I can’t believe I didn’t have any after wearing my heels all day! Ironically the heels I wore at the dessert party later for less than two hours gave me some blisters!
It was totally worth it! 🙂 I’m glad your pink sparklies didn’t hurt you. They looked so cute.
Love your sparkly Toms! And the photo booth – so fun!
