Hey there everyone! Happy Thursday! Can you believe St. Patrick’s Day is Monday … which means March is nearly half over … which means 2014 is flying by crazy quick. I need to get started on my Easter DIY projects! But before I get too far ahead of myself, I wanted to share this quick and easy DIY project with you – Mickey St. Patrick’s Day garland! When I say this one is easy, I really mean it. The toughest part is cutting out the shamrocks!
Supplies
- Green construction paper
- Gold glitter scrapbook paper
- One inch Mickey head paper punch
- Green embroidery thread
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Scotch Tape
Steps
Step 1: Print out the shamrock template onto your green construction paper. I found the shamrock on the Disney owned website Spoonful. Thank you, Spoonful! I then copied nine shamrocks onto one page, and saved that template for this project.
Download the shamrock template PDF here.
Step 2: Cut out the shamrocks.
Step 3: Punch out Mickey shapes using the paper punch. You will need the same number as you have shamrocks.
Step 4: Use the glue stick to attach one Mickey punch to the center of each shamrock.
Step 5: Tape the backs of the shamrocks (the side without the Mickey head) to the embroidery thread. I spaced mine about three inches inches apart.
Step 6: Hang and show off your St. Patrick’s Day garland!
Won’t it be so nice when my fireplace is painted white? I can’t wait.
How will you be showing your Disney Side on St. Patrick’s Day?
