Based on the wild popularity of this DIY Disney Park Map Shoes tutorial, when I saw this unique paper bouquet from Haley’s Walt Disney World wedding, I knew a post about it would be a huge hit! I contacted Haley and she was kind enough to document an origami tutorial just for us! Haley used Disney park maps cut into squares to make her toss bouquet. Isn’t it lovely? Thanks for the great tutorial, Haley!
Step 2: Fold left and right corners upward to meet the top point, creating a square shape.
Step 3: Fold the flaps in half pointing outwards.
Step 4: Pop open the flaps.
Step 5: Fold the tips of the flaps inward so they are hidden.
Step 6: Fold the edges of the flaps inwards in half.
Step 7: Create a cone by using glue or tape to connect the two ends together.
Step 8: Repeat Steps 1-7 six times to create one flower. Roll a long piece of paper to make a stem. Attach each petal to each other and the stem to create your flower.
Once you have several flowers, bunch all the stems together and wrap with tape to create your bouquet. You can then cover the taped stems (the “handle” of your bouquet) with ribbon to make it pretty.
And you’re done! A beautiful handmade, unique bouquet! If using this as your main bouquet is a little too offbeat for you, you could use this for your toss bouquet or as a fun bouquet to carry around at your bridal shower, bachelorette party, or wedding rehearsal.
Such a clever idea! I love that they used Disney park maps. It doesn’t look terribly difficult either. When I made paper bouquets for a wedding I was in, my hands hurt from all of the tiny petals that we had to cut. This doesn’t seem as time consuming and equally pretty in pictures. Future brides could even have a flower assembly party so that the bridal party can get acquainted with each other and so that they can help the bride with this craft. 🙂
It really is not that difficult! I tried to make one just to be sure I could follow the tutorial, and it was very easy. I can see how it would be time consuming to make a lot of them but, like you said, turn it into a party with your beloved or your bridal posse and some bottles of Magicale and it could be a fun evening!
Love this awesome idea! I’ll definitely share it with my friends.
