My Fair Wedding: Unveiled
Baroque Bride

aka: An Episode of MFW I Actually Enjoyed Watching
(I Know, Weird)

Hey, so here’s something crazy – I didn’t hate this episode of My Fair Wedding!  I KNOOOOOOOOW.  This episode felt a lot like the old days, and even though there was some obviously scripted or exaggerated drama, it was overshadowed by how genuinely excited and grateful this couple was by their gorgeous wedding.  Some stuff you just can’t hide with editing.

Meet Summer and Ryan.

They want a baroque, hot rod, and pinup wedding

Summer likes crystals.

 And lace.

Summer’s dad also got them a Day of the Dead cake topper, which has nothing to do with their theme.

Summer’s dad is quite the card.  He wants to wear a Mexican wrestling mask while walking down the aisle.

Summer stresses that she LOVES her dress and David better not change it.

(He’s gonna change it.)

David dubs their wedding a disaster and hops on a plane.

David “arranges” to “surprise” his couple somewhere.

The groom is REALLY happy to see David.

 Wacky dad is there too.

Summer starts talking about how her dad is really excited about the wedding and has a lot of plans, but she’s really nervous about it because their ideas are so different.

David points out that Ryan is really excited about the wedding, too, which is more than most of the grooms he works with.  This, inexplicably(?) makes our bride cry.  (Take shot #1)

David thinks he may have been too blunt, and everyone starts apologizing.

Next we meet up with our couple to try on some new fashion.

First David takes our groom to try on a nice tux.

And leaves Summer out in the other room alone …

FOR FORTY FIVE MINUTES.  That’s some complicated tux.  #notcoolDavid

Next it’s the bride’s turn to try on two new gowns.  I didn’t get a good shot of the first one but it was a mermaid gown with a lot of beading and the bride didn’t like it because the beading was too scattered.

Despite saying she absolutely doesn’t want a ballgown, David puts her in a ballgown, and she hates it.

 Even though it’s really pretty.

David is DUMBFOUNDED because this is a $12,000 and she hates it.  I guess cost of the dress should trump your own style?  So I guess this bride has no dress now.

Next we see David and his dad who are meeting up with groom Ryan to drive some classic cars.

As if RIGHT ON CUE, Ryan gets a phone call from his bride.

David’s dad is awesome – all he wants to do is get a drink and ride in the car.

When Ryan comes back, he says Summer is really upset because she didn’t like any of the dresses and she felt David isn’t seeing things her way.  How convenient that this phone call takes place at this exact moment.  David tells Ryan to not tell his bride that they talked about her, because I guess he forgot he’s ON TV.

Anyway, David’s dad is all like, “I wanna drive me some cars, let’s go.”

David’s dad proclaims that this car has “a lot of balls.”

David’s dad is hilarious.  The public demands a David’s dad spin-off show.

Next we meet up with David and Summer, and learn that Summer is getting a “make under.”  David thinks her hair and makeup is too harsh.

Since Summer is being such a good sport about having her hair darkened, he decides to change his hair style too.

 Looking sharp, Tuts.

Will Summer like her new look?

She likes it but says she needs more makeup – haha.

Summer and David talk about the wedding and brings inspiration pictures.  David learns that she doesn’t like baroque at all!  Her style is more romantic and sophisticated.  Summer feels better about David doing her wedding and there’s hugs all around.

Next, David has a surprise for Summer.

But David is the one surprised when he sees Summer’s hair lightened and all the heavy makeup has returned.

 OMG!  SANDY IS BACK!

Sandy, who if you remember was a Playboy and Penthouse model, now I guess runs a company that does boudoir shoots.  So our bride is getting a sexytime photo shoot!

And she ends up with some gorgeous photos.  *Sigh*  I gotta do this some day.  Note to self – Lose 15 pounds, take pictures in my underwear.

 It’s wedding day!

We didn’t see it on TV, but the bridesmaids are turning in their black gowns …

… for some sparkly new pink ones!

And they all get some new shoes and bling.

David shows the bride her gown (which she is allegedly seeing for the first time).

So it seems she likes it.

While in hair and makeup, some almost believable drama goes down.  The bride wants her usually heavy makeup but ENHANCED for her wedding day, but David wants her to have a softer look.

The bride is unhappy because it’s not enough.  The bride said “I don’t want to look natural, I want to look like me but more glamorous.  This is MY wedding, not David’s.”    A really smart bridesmaid says:

“I think more more more is better.”  Right.

The makeup person runs to David for advice.

David comes in and says ….

Okay, do whatever you want with your makeup.  What a softie!

So the bride takes over and gets shizz done.

Now David has a surprise for his groom.

David tells Ryan he is going to drive this car to the top of the aisle. This is one happy groom.

Do I spy a crying bridesmaid?  Shot #2

Crying groom.  Finish the bottle of whatever you’re drinking.

Crane camera boob shot.

Don’t look now but the bride trips, haha.  Every bride’s worst nightmare.  But she caught herself.  You go, girl.

Reception reveal:

I gotta say I LOVE THIS ROOM.  If I could have an unlimited budget and a wedding re-do, it would look like this.

The cake is pretty, but a little lackluster.

But the couple seems to love it, and that’s what matters.

Guests are let in.  A buffet seems a little un-Tutera-like, doesn’t it?

David grabs his couple for one last surprise.  Remember the photo shoot?

She loves it!  So we bring the groom over ….

He likes it! She even signs it for him, like a real Centerfold.

 Oh yeah …

The luchadora masks.  That’s David in the middle.

THE END.

Oooooh my goooood you guys, a normal episode!  I guess the editors really couldn’t squeeze any drama out of this couple.  She threw a little bit of a fit about the makeup, which is TOTALLY REASONABLE for a bride who is being told she can’t look the way she wants to look on her wedding day.  There’s only so much you can change, Tuts.

Let me know what you thought of this episode!  This one was better, right?  And now enjoy your Faces of David (there were a lot of good ones this week):
