Today’s engagement story comes from Stefanie and Wagner.  Wagner proposed in a familiar spot, but there’s a personalized twist!  Please welcome Stefanie as she recounts the events of their special day!

Our names are Wagner and Stefanie … we had been together for just about 7 years when he finally popped the question. We met through mutual friends. Our shared love for Disney and theme parks allowed our relationship to blossom. In the last few years, we’ve also become extremely large Vinylmation fans. We have two shadow boxes full, with another one about to completed. Anyway, on to the story ….

Labor Day Weekend 2011 … our friend Renee was in town for the Disneyland Half Marathon. After the marathon, we were all slated to meet up with each other and spend a day at the parks. The traffic to get to Disneyland was HORRENDOUS, which automatically put me in a horrible mood and made me not want to go to Disney, but with encouragement from friends, I sucked it up and went in. Some of our friends had entered Disneyland earlier in the morning. She text me saying she was tired and was going to wait for us by the Snow White Wishing Well. Once we arrived there, we still had to wait for a few other friends to meet up with us. Wagner said he had to use the restroom and left. The rest of us just hung around the wishing well … waiting.

After about 5-10 minutes, Wagner returned with his brother and brother’s girlfriend, along with a shopping bag. He told me he had a really good feeling about this particular Vinylmation and he had to stop and buy it. I didn’t question this, as we often just buy vinylmations on a whim while walking by a store. He handed me the Vinylmation box (Pirates of the Caribbean series, btw). I opened the box, ripped open the foil, and because I always try to guess which one we got just by looking at the top of it’s head, I was immediately confused. I didn’t recognize this BRIGHT pink Vinylmation from the POTC series. AND the top of the Vinylmation had “HI” written on it. Thoroughly confused, I pulled the vinylmation out, and on the front it read “Will U Marry Me?” I turned around so quickly and Wagner was on one knee with an engagement ring!

I was SO shocked … I had no idea this was coming. We had talked about getting married, but it never seemed like it would be happening any time soon. I could not believe the trouble Wagner had gone to, to make this proposal special and unique, catered especially to us and our interests. He had opened the box and foil from the bottom, switched the vinylmations, and then super-glued the foil and box shut. So, when I opened it, I had no idea. It looked like a brand new package! Last but not least, the actual Vinylmation that he got when he bought this box, was the chaser from the POTC series. Coincidence? I think not!

Congrats Stefanie and Wagner!  Keep us posted on your wedding plans!
