Bedroom that we are using as our Master. It’s small, but has just enough space for our queen bed and a dresser, and it’s connected to the main bathroom, and that’s really all we need out of a Master.
Main bath (that door leads to our bedroom):
The shower is amazing …. like a spa.
I’m using a little room at the front of the house as my office! It’s a tiny space … the previous owners were using it as a kid’s bedroom but it was really cramped. It’s a perfect office space. I can open the window, feel the breeze, and hear the fountain in front of our house. A massive change from the dark corner of our bedroom that was my “office” in our last place.
Unfortunately we had a little incident with Mr. BFT’s desk during the move, and since my current desk wasn’t a great fit for my new office, we decided Mr. BFT would take my desk and I would get a new one. Since the space is so small I wanted to get white furniture. Off to Ikea we went and after a few little meltdowns, I settled on a desk/drawer combo that I wasn’t completely in love with but was the best option and we needed something quick. Now that it’s set up I really love it; my only complaint is that it’s too shallow and lower than my old desk so I keep bumping my knees on the underside of the desk. I just have to get used to it. Eventually I’m going to get a shelving system that will go on that wall so I can get my laptop off the makeshift binder shelf and I’ll have more room for my keyboard. And the rug was a Target find; it looks red in the picture but it’s actually hot pink.
Poorly lit dining space:
Bonus area adjacent to the dining space that I think we are going to turn into a cozy little library/reading space:
Second bathroom:
Third bedroom, which will be Mr. BFT’s office / guest room:
Laundry / Storage area (with the previous owner’s stuff; no, we didn’t get to keep the washer and dryer:
Backyard. I think most people would be disappointed with a yard this small, but for us it’s perfect.
Another little rose garden along the side of the house, adjacent to the driveway:
So that’s our little home. It needs a few structural repairs and the garage needs major work to be brought up to code (it used to be a carport that was shabbily converted into a garage), and that will all be taken care of in the next couple of weeks. After that madness is done, we can turn to decorating. I’m sooo excited to decorate our new house!
It’s such a great feeling to cross this huge item off my Life List! I can’t believe I’m a homeowner! It’s going to take a while to sink in.
