It’s time for another installment of
Ask a Disney Bride
Today we are answering a question about invitation etiquette.  It can be a very confusing subject, so let’s settle it once and for all!
Disney Wedding Invitation
Dear DWI,

We sent out Save the Date notifications and had a few people respond that they couldn’t come. When it’s time, do we still send them an invitation?

Signed,
Confused in Concord
Dear Confused,
The answer to your question is very simple – YES!  Even if a guest gives you an informal regrets RSVP, you should still send them a formal invitation.  By the time the invitation is sent, perhaps their situation has changed.  You never know!  You also want to avoid an awkward situation where someone thinks they are invited based on receiving the Save the Date, then shows up unannounced and screws up your guest count.  So it’s best for everyone involved to make sure everyone on your Save the Date list gets a formal invite, regardless of their initial response.
