I’ve been lucky enough to be a guest at a few “Disneyland” weddings at the hotels, but these posts are all about witnessing my first actual DISNEYLAND wedding, courtesy of my amazing friends Becca and Mike!
Becca and Mike actually got married on September 16, which is the day after my birthday, so I combined their wedding with a little birthday trip.
I arrived at Disneyland on Sunday, my actual birthday. The first orders of duty were to get a pink adult beverage and take a picture in front of the castle.
Later in the day we checked into my home for the weekend, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, where I was upgraded to a pool view room! Two weeks earlier I was upgraded to a suite at Paradise Pier Hotel, and now this. The upgrade fairy was very good to me during the month of September.
That evening, Mr. BFT treated me to a yummy dinner at Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel. More pink drinks were consumed.
After dinner, Mr. BFT sadly had to leave to go back home since he had to work the next day – boo – but my friends came by my room with a special birthday treat – MY VERY OWN DUFFY!!!!!!
I’ve been wanting one for “fur”ever and now I finally had my own! Above he is flanked by his cousins, Malefiduffy Bear and Shellroara. I got a few other really nice birthday gifts from my friends; they are so thoughtful! I’m so lucky to be blessed with really great friends. Then we left my new Duffy in the room (he was naked after all) and hit up Mad T Party for a little bit. I love dancing and brightly colored lights, so Mad T Party is one of my favorite places to be.
After dancing, my friends and I went to Uva Bar in Downtown Disney for a late night drink, and happened upon tomorrow’s bride and groom, at separate times, as they were out celebrating their bachelor/bachelorette parties!
After that we went back to the Grand for one last night cap, this time a delicious chocolate martini. Best. Birthday. Ever.
The next day was a Monday, and I reveled in not being at work and instead being at Disneyland! I took advantage of Magic Morning Hour and went into Disney’s California Adventure park and did single rider for Radiator Springs Racers three times! On the fourth time, it broke down right as our car was leaving the queue. This was right around the time the park was opening for regular guests and I felt really bad for everyone who had just gotten in line.
After breaking Disneyland, I went back to my room and got ready to spend the day by the pool. I had a really leisurely day of drinking, reading, and napping. It was a perfect day off!
Soon it was time for me to head back to the room and start getting ready for the wedding! I was helping set up the ceremony and reception decorations and I had to be at The Disneyland Hotel by a certain time to be led in backstage (eep!). As I was walking around I saw the Brisa Courtyard set up for an event, and Cinderella’s Coach!
This seems like a good place to stop – up next, Backstage at Disneyland and the Main Event! Here’s a little sneaky peek at Becca’s amazing shoes and bouquet! My pictures hardly do them any justice.
