Wendy and Greg week continues with their Walt Disney World wedding at Sea Breeze Point, and fun reception at Atlantic Dance Hall. Wendy and Greg did a ton of DIY for their wedding and the careful thought and attention that went into everything really paid off. I can honestly say I wish I had been a guest at this beautiful wedding! Congrats Wendy and Greg!

We were engaged for over two years so I did a ton of DIY for this wedding. Invitations, programs, welcome bags, buttons, welcome folders, times guides, transportation schedules, Mickey pomander, LEGO bouts, cake topper, table names, menus, escort card holders, reserved signs, escort cards, bar menus, card box, wine box, guest book, seating chart, and I’m probably missing some!
The days leading up to our wedding were extremely frantic and scary. We live in New Jersey and our wedding was November 4. Our flight to Florida was scheduled to leave on Thursday, November 1. Hurricane Sandy came through three days before, on Monday, October 29. The airport cancelled all outbound flights on the 30th and the 31st. We literally didn’t know until we got to the airport if our flight was really going to leave for Florida. I don’t think I slept for those three days. We were lucky to be safe, but we had no power, no heat, and were genuinely afraid we wouldn’t make it to our own wedding. Our backup was to hop in the car and start making the drive if our flight got cancelled, but the gas shortage made us nervous. Thankfully, we, and all of our guests, made it down to Florida. Most people didn’t have power and some had houses that sustained damage, but everyone agreed it was amazing to be able to get away and enjoy the Florida sunshine.
Our wedding day was wonderful. It was a long day…I started hair & makeup around 10am and our ceremony was at 5pm and reception ended at 10:30pm. My favorite thing was probably having Mickey and Donald crash the party. They were so energetic and every single person got on the dance floor and had a blast with them. The food was delicious and our cake both looked and tasted amazing. They really did a great job executing the vision I had for our wedding.
