Affiliate program manager Commission Junction just released a very cool new tool for publishers. The Commission Junction Deep Link Generator lets you take a product link from one of your affiliates, any product, and create an affiliate link! This is great for creating certain types of posts such as gift guides or style boards. Take note, though, that not all advertisers support deep linking, so be sure to test it out before you write an entire post around a particular product or advertiser.
First, go to http://www.cj.com/publisher/deep-link-generator. Scroll down a little until you see the button for “CJ Deep Link Generator.” Place your mouse cursor on the button and drag it into your bookmarks toolbar.
Once you have that button in your bookmarks, pull up one of your affiliate websites and choose a product.
With the product page showing (not the home page), click on the bookmark button for the CJ Deep Link Generator. A window will pop up with a unique affiliate link for that product, with your CJ code built right in! All you have to do is copy and paste it into your post.
If you get a pop-up message with anything other than a link, it means the advertiser is not set up with Deep Links. Sad trombone.
