Wave your arms if you’re super excited for the inaugural Tinkerbell 10k at Disneyland this weekend! *Waves wildly* I have been so sick and didn’t get to do much any training for this race but that’s the nice thing about 10ks – they are kinda easy. At least I’m fully recovered now and feeling really great. The Disneyland 10k was so fun, and I thought I’d put a post together outlining all the fun things I predict we’ll see along the route for the Tink 10k. If you’re running, look for me in my Minnie running costume!

Things to Look for While Running the Tinkerbell 10k
Costumes – I’m always wowed by the creativity of the race participants when it comes to their costumes! You’ll see plenty of Tinkerbells, Minnies, and princesses. In the past I have seen Dapper Dans, Newsies, Mary Poppins … during the Disneyland 10k, I even saw Jafar chasing Aladdin! They were zig-zagging along the course – it was so funny! Dressing up in costume is a great way to make your Disney race that much more fun. But if costumes aren’t for you, don’t worry … there are plenty of people in “normal” running clothes.
ChEAR Squad – During my first race, I was so amazed at the amount of friendly strangers lined up along the course just to cheer everyone on! When people are clapping and cheering and waving signs and shaking noise makers, it really helps keep you moving. I try to wave and say “thank you” whenever I can.
Volunteers – The RunDisney volunteers are the best around! They woke up early just to make sure you stay hydrated (among other important duties) so be sure to thank them when you see them!

Photographers – The official race photographers are stationed all around the course, so keep a look out for them. I always pick up the pace a little when I pass by a camera, heh. Make sure your bib is positioned straight and with no obstructions because this is how the photography company identifies you.
Castle Photo Op – No race through Disneyland is complete without the obligatory selfie in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle!
Mile 6 Marker – That means you’re almost finished!
The Finish Line – You made it! Doesn’t it feel good? Feel free to throw your arms up in victory!
Your Medal – Yes! This makes all the hours of training worth it. Give your medal a big ole smooch if you want to. MUUUUAH!
