Arguably Disney’s most popular princess, Cinderella is everywhere these days. And this is no coincidence – Disney is really hyping up the re-release of their 12th animated feature on Blu-ray on October 2, 2012. Included in these promotions are a ton of merchandise to bring out your inner princess on your wedding day.
It started with these very limited Christian Louboutin soles. Only 20 were created and are being given away to some very lucky fans. I’m not sure what butterflies have to do with Cinderella, but apparently we are expected to just overlook that because OH LOOK, PRETTY RED SOLE, MUST HAVE.
Next, for those brides that are a little bit more in touch with reality, DSW announced their “Glass Slipper Collection,” without a glass slipper in the bunch. I’m pretty sure they just needed a name for their fall collection and just slapped the word Cinderella on it. None of these shoes scream “fairy tale” to me. Oh, but every pair has a blue “jewel” on the sole. Please tell me this isn’t a selling point to anyone, really? (And by the way, there’s no love for us brides with wobbly ankles. Couldn’t just one of these styles be a low heel or flat?)
Michael’s craft stores is getting into the action with their new line of Disney stationery. Of course there’s a design featuring Cinderella’s iconic carriage.
And finally, a line of products that’s more my style – Sephora has announced the limited-edition Disney’s Cinderella Collection by Sephora, hitting stores in October. The collection will include perfume, eye shadows, a mirrored compact (all shown below), nail polish, lipsticks, and more. It sounds like this will become a semi-annual thing, so I can’t wait to see what princesses are next. As a make-up fiend, I can already hear my credit card sobbing.
