I Survived the No Pink Hoodie Project

I Survived the No Pink Hoodie Project

I gave up my pink hoodie for the entire month of February and lived to tell about it.

It’s very easy to say I have no sense of fashion, and it makes me a little sad. I’m a jeans and t-shirt girl and I definitely have my favorite pieces that I wear 90% of the time, including my pink hoodie (which I’ve had for, no joke, at least 10 years). I decided to give up my pink hoodie for February and let some of my other sweaters and jackets and, yes, hoodies see the light of day. I’m happy to say it was easier than I thought! And I really do have a nice collection of jackets. Who knew?

I don’t have too many pictures of me from February, but here’s a couple:

I wore this great light pink lacey jacket when I met up with Disneyland Bride Melanie at Downtown Disney. The scarf was handmade by Adina from Gluten-Free Travelette in our wedding colors, pink and orange. LOVE. A great perk of giving up the thing that you reach for 99% of the time is exploring your closet and rediscovering GREAT accessories.

I went to Disney’s California Adventure with some fellow blogger friends and wore a black sweater with a fuzzy collar. I’ve had this sweater for a while and it used to be my “fancy” sweater but now I’m starting to wear it for just “regular” occasions and I love it. (Photo credit Jamie Gall)

I bought this rose gold shimmery button down top at a secondhand store and it makes for a great top layer. I’m sure Sean Astin was SUPER impressed with my fashion know-how and was simply too dumbfounded to say anything about it. Yep.

Here’s a picture of me working with a cat in my lap. I never said I was suddenly glamorous. I’m still mostly a hot mess. Just a hot mess with different sweaters.

So the pink hoodie is back hanging by the door, but I’m going to try to continue to branch out. Like today I’m wearing … wait for it … a BLACK hoodie. Baby steps, right?
