Last week we featured their engagement photos, and now I am delighted to bring you these gorgeous images from Christine and Anthony’s wedding at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa! From Christine:
For our parents’ sake, we knew we would not be able to escape throwing a huge traditional Chinese banquet, but we couldn’t host a Disney wedding for 300 guests either! So we compromised and invited 70 of our closest friends and family down to Anaheim, and threw another bash back home a couple weeks later. We wouldn’t have had it any other way, as we were able to exchange vows at our favorite place on Earth, and still honor our cultural heritage.
We were married at the Grand Californian, on September 10, 2011, a date I picked because I was amused by the sequence (09-10-11!) The hotel’s rustic, 20th century arts and crafts style was the perfect setting for our fall wedding. The ceremony took place on the Parkview Terrace, the pre-reception in the Brisa Courtyard, and the reception in the Trillium Room.
We wanted a fun and personal wedding, so we tried to incorporate little Disney touches, including a customized cake topper, “I’m Celebrating!” buttons for everyone in attendance, and Disney hats and props in the photo booth. My sweet hubby also saved a surprise for me (and all our guests) – Mickey and Minnie joined us for the cake cutting! I was floored.
As a bride, you spend a lot of the planning process overanalyzing and worrying about the details, but thanks to the wonderful Disney staff, our wedding day was smoother and more relaxed than I could have ever imagined it. We had such a wonderful time and I was thrilled that everyone could share in the Disney magic with us.
Our perfect day would not have been possible without the help of these amazing people:
