I’m so excited, because tomorrow morning I leave for Alt Summit! I had such a great time at Alt Summit last year, and this year I’m really driven because I just have to make this blogging thing work for me, like, IMMEDIATELY! I’m hoping to connect with some other bloggers and professionals who are smarter than me, and hopefully some sponsors who want to work with me.
Alt Summit is known as a fashionable gathering, and I try not to buy into it too much but I enjoy that it makes me get a little creative with my outfits and get out of my comfort zone a little bit. I’m a total jeans and t-shirts gal so I like the opportunity to try wearing something new.
This year, since I’m trying to brand myself as a Disney blogger and promote my latest site, Inspired By Dis, I decided to do some DisneyBounding! This simply means that a couple of my outfits are slightly inspired by Disney characters. I didn’t have the time, energy, or resources to DisneyBound every outfit but I’m pretty pleased with what I came up with!
I also need some opinions on some outfits, so please keep reading and sound off in the comments!
Outfit Planning and DisneyBounding for Alt Summit
Wednesday Travel – Cinderella Shirt (from Hot Topic years ago, I think), jeans, Coach boots, vintage Cheetah coat (a recent Budget Fairy Tale Moment thrift shop find)
Wednesday Dinner // Minnie Mouse DisneyBound – I found the dress and everything else I already owned! Red polka dot dress from TJ Maxx, black belt from Forever 21, black ribbed tights, gold glitter heels (can’t remember where I got them!), black geometric necklace by Cookie Lee, handmade white floral hair clip.
Thursday Daytime Sessions – I need a little help deciding what to wear! “Shine Like a Diamond” shirt from Target … should I pair with black skirt or purple skinny jeans? (FYI – Bleached heart tutorial coming up next week.) Black shoes from Kohls. Bracelets by Cookie Lee.
Thursday “Green Party” and Dinner // Peter Pan DisneyBound – Well, when you tell a Disney blogger they need to come up with a green outfit, what else do you expect? It was either Peter Pan or Tinkerbell and Peter Pan came together pretty easily. Green dress from Target, brown boots from TJ Maxx, green tights from Target, Tink necklace from Hot Topic, gold belt I’ve had for ever, handmade green floral clip.
Friday Daytime Sessions // Ariel DisneyBound – Hopefully no one will notice I’m re-purposing my green dress as a skirt for this Ariel DisneyBound! (Trying to fit everything into a Carry On!) And I know Leopard flats don’t exactly go with the theme, but I can’t resist. Green dress from Target, purple top from vintage store, starfish hair clip from Sephora at D23 Expo, shell necklaces and rings from Cookie Lee, leopard flats from Target.
Friday Night Mini Parties – I have two outfits to choose from for the Friday night parties! If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed these are different from the two dresses I posted earlier today. I decided those dresses really didn’t fit the feel of the parties, so I came up with a couple different ideas.
Look 1: Bronze button down top from J Crew, black skirt from TJ Maxx, black shoes from Kohls.
Look 2: Nude sequin dress from Forever 21 (that I couldn’t fit into for the longest time!), gold heels.
Both looks will be paired with the black geometric necklace and bow earrings from Cookie Lee.
Which one should I wear?
Saturday Sight Seeing and Travel – Saturday is all about comfort and warmth, since I’ll be doing a bit of wandering around SLC and then flying back home! Grey top from Target, jeans, gold boots from Coach.
