Subscription boxes are all the rage lately, and after becoming disenchanted with Birchbox and Stitch Fix being too expensive to order on the regular (I still love my Stitch Fixes, though), I set my sights on Stridebox! Since I’m training for the Dumbo Double Dare (in two months – ack), a running subscription box is perfect for me right now.
I’ll start this off just by simply saying that I’m WAY impressed with my first Stridebox. It’s $15 a month which includes shipping and I feel like I really got my money’s worth!
My StrideBox included:
So, yeah, there’s a lot of items I can’t try due to my allergies but the sports tape and the water bottle alone I feel were worth my $15, so I’m very pleased. If you’re a runner or even if you just workout extensively, I highly recommend Stridebox. (PS – They don’t have an affiliate program so this is not an affiliate link. I just really loved my Stridebox!)
The Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare is creeping up on me and my training is in full swing. Like last year, I’m not following any formal training plan, instead just listening to my body and having some loose goals. I’m doing my longer runs on the weekend and tacking on one mile each week until I reach race weekend and 13 miles. This past weekend I was due to do 5 miles, but the last few weekends I’ve been doing 6 miles, so I’m ahead of the game! Aside from my long run on the weekend, I’m also trying to do 2 short runs and 2 cross training sessions a week, so that’s a total of 5 workouts per week. Totally manageable! Right now I’m feeling pretty good about my training but I know that doing 19.3 miles in one weekend is no joke. If I want those three medals, I have to work hard!
