If you’re looking to save a few bucks on your Disneyland wedding, you can get a great deal just by having your reception at a Paradise Pier ballroom.
It seems Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings is trying to drum up business for the underutilized hotel by offering a “magical rate” for wedding receptions at Paradise Pier Hotel starting in 2014 with an indefinite end date:
- Wishes Weddings Monday through Thursday: $8,000.00 overall minimum for Crystal Cove Ballroom (regularly $12,000.00)
- Wishes Weddings Monday through Thursday: $10,000.00 overall minimum for Pacific Ballroom (regularly $12,000.00)
- Wishes Weddings Friday and Sunday: $10,000.00 overall minimum for Crystal Cove Ballroom (regularly $15,000.00)
- Wishes Weddings Friday and Sunday: $12,000.00 overall minimum for Pacific Ballroom (regularly $15,000.00)
The discount is not available on Saturdays. Keep in mind the totals listed above do not include tax and gratuity.
I noticed a new option on the food and beverage listings, too:
$85.00++ per person for a Breakfast or Brunch Reception following a 9:30am Ceremony
9:30am ceremony?!? BRUNCH?!? I had never heard of brunch being an option before, not even with early morning Escape Ceremonies! I confirmed with a source at DFTW that the morning ceremony and brunch option is available for Wishes receptions (not Escape) at all three hotels and of course you CAN get Mickey Waffles!
The Paradise Pier Hotel has never really been a serious contender for couples planning a wedding at The Disneyland Resort, mostly because I think The Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel are viewed as much more elegant and sophisticated. I would wager that at least 50% of all weddings at The Disneyland Resort choose the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion for their reception.
One other reasons I think PPH gets overlooked is because their main ballroom is, well, not pretty. It’s very loud, and very tropical. I feel like most couples are going to see the large Birds of Paradise woven into the carpet and run far away. Unless their wedding is luau themed. As you can see in the pictures (all pictures here are of the Pacific Ballroom), the Disney team can turn the space into a much more sophisticated atmosphere with draping and lighting, but how much does all that cost?
(Notice the tables and chairs strategically cover up the bright carpet.)
HOWEVER, here’s a gorgeous beachy themed wedding at PPH. Proof you can have a beautiful wedding at this venue without drastically changing the look of the room.
If couples out there are struggling with the costs of their dream Disneyland wedding, this “magical rate” is certainly welcome news. I hope a few couples can take advantage!
