Blogging and Income Report - October 2017

This post contains affiliate links.

Hello! Welcome to my Blogging and Income Report for October 2017! I ended up having a great month, in fact it’s my highest traffic month of the year, which is really exciting! Let’s recap how it all went down.

Blogging and Income Report – October 2017

Starting with last months goals. I mentioned I’m working on a course for Joy Social, and I’m just about ready to start pre-sales (yay)! I also got a TON of shirt designs up for the holidays. I’m pretty happy with everything I accomplished in October!

Numbers

Woohoo, look at those numbers! I had a post go mini-viral on Pinterest in early October which helped boost my numbers for the month. Why can’t that happen all the time????

Blogging and Income Report - October 2017

My top referral sources for October didn’t change – Google, Pinterest, Direct traffic, Facebook, and Bing.

Other October Happenings

In non-blogging adventures, Tim’s family visited us at the beginning of October which is always a nice treat. We love having them here, especially since we are staying in California for Christmas. I also got swept up in Dodger fever and it was fun to watch the games with friends and have something to cheer for.

Monetizing

Here’s what I earned in October 2017. I list the earnings by network, and then state the specific brands/shops in parenthesis. If I didn’t make any money through a specific affiliate channel, I will leave it off the list (all those zeros could get depressing)!

(Keep in mind I’m only sharing the revenue I generate through my websites and social media accounts.)

Ad Networks

Mediavine – $1027.55 (desktop and mobile ads)
Google Adsense and YouTube – $1.64

Brand Campaigns

Sponsored Content – $50.00
Sponsored Tweets (Izea) – $0.17

Affiliates (some of the links below contain my affiliate code)

Amazon – $32.16
ShopSense – $1.64
CJ – $3.51 (Yandy)
Share-a-Sale – $186.38 (Wayfair, Redbubble, Teepublic)
Awin – $160.81 (Etsy)

Total revenue for October 2017 = $1463.86.
– Total revenue the previous month = $2847.44.
– Difference: -$1383.58

I knew this month’s income would be down due to last month’s incredible revenue from the Facebook course I promote, but I was actually expecting a larger drop. I hit over $1000 with my banner ads, which is a fun milestone! Hopefully with November and December I will start to see some extra holiday revenue trickle in.

Things I need to work on:

It’s mid-November at this point, and I was hoping to pre-sell my Joy Social course by now but I’m a little behind with my timeline. So I need to focus on that, plus sprucing up my gift guides and pushing affiliate links for holiday shopping.

That’s it for now! Thank you for reading. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll try my best to answer! I also would like to know if the information I’m providing is helpful or what else you would want to see/learn from an income report. Let me know how I can help you! Have a great month, everyone!

Do you know if there’s an affiliate for the Disney Store (or Shop Disney now)?

Yes, it’s through CJ but it’s awful … only 2% and it’s tough to convert thanks to cash back sites. I use ShopSense whenever I link to ShopDisney.
