Hello! Welcome to my Blogging and Income Report for May 2018! Truth be told, I did not have the May I was hoping for. Blog visits have been sagging this year and May was no exception, handing me my lowest stats for the year so far. Womp womp. However, the month was not a complete loss, and I have lots to discuss! Let’s get it started!
Blogging and Income Report – May 2018
Starting with last months goals. In case you missed it …. I started a podcast! My friend Renee and I launched Rock Your Wedding Biz – giving weekly no-nonsense advice to wedding industry professionals – in mid-May. The response from our peers has been overwhelming! We already hit 100 downloads for a single episode and have 12 iTunes reviews in less than a month of being live. The launch well exceeded our expectations and it has been a fun new creative venture for both of us. Thanks to everyone who has tuned in so far!
As I mentioned above, May was terrible for traffic. I fell below my April numbers, which were way below my March numbers. I’ve been so busy with other things (*cough*podcast*cough*) that I really need carve out some time to analyze my numbers and see where I need to put some extra attention.
My top referral sources for May had no changes – Google, Pinterest, Direct traffic, Facebook, and Bing.
Other May Happenings
Here’s what I earned in May 2018. I list the earnings by network, and then state the specific brands/shops in parenthesis. If I didn’t make any money through a specific affiliate channel, I will leave it off the list (all those zeros could get depressing)!
(Keep in mind I’m only sharing the revenue I generate through my websites and social media accounts.)
Campaign Bonuses – $20
Affiliates (some of the links below contain my affiliate code)
Amazon – $55.35
ShopSense – $0.73
CJ – $1.27 (ThinkGeek)
Share-a-Sale – $36.87 (Wayfair, Minted, Redbubble, Jane.com)
Awin – $168.21 (Etsy)
Pepperjam – $0.85 (Shutterfly)
Fuze360 – $10.50
Moolah Courses – $423.60
Total revenue for May 2018 = $1557.39.
– Total revenue the previous month = $1742.74.
– Difference: -$185.35
Nearly all of my revenue streams were down across the board last month. The only thing that saved me was commission from the Facebook Growth Strategies course I promote (under Moolah Courses).
Things I need to work on:
My number one priority this month is getting my page views and revenue back up. I need to just do a deep dive into my stats and look for ways I can boost my affiliate revenue. Sounds easy enough, but I know it will be a challenge!
That’s it for now! Thank you for reading. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll try my best to answer! I also would like to know if the information I’m providing is helpful or what else you would want to see/learn from an income report. Let me know how I can help you! Have a great month, everyone!
