When Rebecca and Michael were at Walt Disney World for their 2012 wedding, they decided to forego the very popular “castle shoot” at Magic Kingdom and decided instead on a Trash the Dress session at Typhoon Lagoon!
From Rebecca: “We did the shoot at Typhoon Lagoon with Disney Fine Art Photography. I had really wanted a Magic Kingdom photo shoot but we were at the top of our budget for the wedding overall and doing that would have sent us over. Luckily, we were able to get a Trash the Dress shoot for considerably less and the light hearted theme really fit better with both of our personalities. Mike doesn’t like getting his photos taken so to make him get up at the crack of dawn for a photo shoot in the Magic Kingdom would have been akin to honeymoon murder. As you can see by many of these photos, however, he really had fun.”
“As soon as our photographer picked us up and asked just how badly we wanted to trash the dress, we knew it was going to be fun times. They set up the wave pool and she smuggled in the “illegal” props of the markers. I had no idea of the little devil horns he drew on my face until I went to change out of my dress! We both agreed that it’s such a shame Disney doesn’t advertise this opportunity as much as they do the Magic Kingdom and other in-parks photo shoots because we had soooo much fun doing this! To give you an idea how little they advertise it, when we were trying to decide if we wanted to do this or an Epcot shoot, Disney had only two pictures to show us from prior Trash the Dress shoots. I really hope that our photos can help Disney show other couples how much fun a Trash the Dress session can be!”
