Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in July 2012 I had the pleasure of being a guest at my friend Rachel’s wedding! I actually met Rachel on the interwebs because of my blog, and when she had some last minute cancellations she very sweetly invited myself and some other Disneyland brides to share in her magical day. When I started this blog I never dreamed it would turn into attending other people’s Disneyland weddings but – hey – someone has to do all the tough work, amiright?
Rachel and Michael had a lovely summer ceremony at the Rose Court Garden and their reception at the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion, all within the grounds of the Disneyland Hotel. There was PINK everywhere, and even some ombre pink! I like to think maybe Rachel was inspired by my love of all things pink and ombre. I am such a trendsetter.
(All photos are my personal photos; please do not use without permission. Pinning is okay!)
Ombre rose petals on the aisle, hmmmm, looks familiar …..
Pretty floral arrangements along the aisle.
In case anyone is wondering, this is where Disney puts the piano, if you have a live pianist.
The flower girls were simply adorbs.
Our first glimpse of the bride! You can also see an example of the tulle swagging along the chairs.
Let’s just jump right to the end of the ceremony (apparently I was too engrossed to take pictures). They opted for the “bubble cannons” which shoot out a steady stream of bubbles from the sides of the gazebo. We also all had our own little bottles of bubbles. It was so fun (but wow, those cannons are noisy. I jumped when they turned on).
Pre-reception was on the Adventure Lawn. Here is the antipasto display of meats and veggies.
Here is the cheese and fruit platter.
And baskets of bread. Attendants kept everything filled until it was apparent that people weren’t coming back for more.
After a quick pre-reception break, we headed into the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion!
The tables had these gorgeous tall centerpieces, done through Disney.
As favors, we all got our own personalized Mickey ears and “I’m celebrating” buttons!
At each setting was also a nice thank you note and a menu, both DIY-ed by the couple.
Rachel and Mike were announced and did a really cute choreographed dance (a waltz maybe?).
And in the middle of it, they busted out some light sabers! An ode to Mike’s fandom. It was totally awesome!
After toasts and some banter from their DJ (who was through Disney and he was really great although sadly I can’t remember his name), lunch was served! We started with creamy tomato basil soup.
The main entry was a filet mignon and salmon duo with potatoes and veggies. I don’t “do” seafood so I didn’t try the salmon, but everything else was excellent (as always with Disney)!
Just when I thought I couldn’t eat any more, they brought out mini fondues! Oh my heavens.
Speaking of dessert, their cake was lovely.
And everyone totally dug the personalized topper, with a little nod to their first dance number. Cute!
I also snagged a close-up pic of this bridesmaid’s bouquet.
Last but not least, the highlight of any Disney wedding reception is Mickey and Minnie, of course! Here they are in their “white” outfits. See those kids in the background? I totally shoved them out of the way to get this picture.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to my new friends Rachel and Mike for inviting me to be a part of this happy event. Your wedding ROCKED and I had a ball. Best wishes to you and your new family!
