Disney announced today that they will be hosting a 24 hour Disney Side party at both Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, and Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL, starting at 6am May 23, 2014, and ending 6am May 24, 2014. Disney’s first 24-hour party was on Leap Year Day in 2012, celebrating “one more Disney day.” The event was a huge success, drawing record breaking crowds and creating traffic jams all around Disneyland. A 24-hour event was also held last year in May 2013.
Disney used 140 “characters” forming the shape of a hashtag to make their announcement.
A unique aspect of this party is Disney is allowing guests to wear costumes. As a rule, costumes are not allowed inside the Disney Parks, as it can confuse guests or cause a disturbance. Looks like Disney is actually encouraging guests to Rock Your Disney Side during this 24-hour event.
