Stitch Fix #6 - Fall Fashion

It has been a while since my last Stitch Fix, so I decided to treat myself to a Fix before things start to get super crazy for the holiday season. Lately I’ve been attending a lot of networking events to promote my new consulting business so I thought I’d get a Fix and I requested business-casual tops that could work for fall & winter. Well, I’m not sure if my note to my stylist got lost in the Interwebs but my Fix was nothing like what I asked for. At first I was disappointed (you can kind of see that in my unboxing video below) but ironically this ended up being one of my favorite Fixes.

Here’s my unboxing video:

So now that you’ve seen what I received, let’s see how it looks on!

Stitch Fix #6 - Fall Fashion

En Creme – Asana Cross Back Detail Sweater – $58.00

Out of the box I was not impressed with this sweater, and putting it on did not really change my mind. I already own a black sweater, and this one didn’t really WOW me enough. Plus I didn’t find it to be terribly flattering when I tried it on. (By the way, I am wearing a white top under the sweater, I swear I’m not THAT pasty.) (Also by the way, the jeans are from a past Fix and I wear them all the time.)

41Hawthorne – Abalone Ruffle Front Blouse – $54.00

Another one I wasn’t impressed with out of the box. I’ve never really liked red clothes on me. But when I put it on I was pleasantly surprised. With the right accessories, maybe I *CAN* wear red! I don’t really like how the top fits me in the back, though, which proves the importance of having someone take pictures of you wearing your Fix clothes from all angles!

Gilli – Sheri Graphic Print Pencil Skirt – $58.00

I liked this one right away and liked it even more when I put it on! The graphic print is fun, and since it’s black and white I could pair it with a ton of colorful tops I already own. I like that the waist is stretchy, since my problem with past zippered pencil skirts have been the fit. This skirt can shrink and grow with me, which is good. I wish it was just a little more flattering, but for the most part it’s not awful (and that’s pretty much the best I can hope for with most clothes – “This doesn’t make me look awful.”)

Kut from the Kloth – Michael Faux Leather Jacket – $78.00

I liked this jacket but I already have a black leather jacket that fits like a glove. This was a Medium and Medium jackets do not work with my chestal area. Honestly if this was in any other color (I’m desperate for a nice brown jacket), and was a size bigger, I would have kept it.

Margaret M – Emer Printed Straight Leg Pant – $98.00

I was very skeptical of these when I first saw them. I liked the color (I’m drawn to clothes in purple hues) and I liked the print. But for the price they really had to be, like, the most amazing pants ever. Turns out, THEY WERE. The tag said slimming and I think they were right. My booty looks fantastic in these, if I do say so myself.

Awkward close-up so you can see the pixie dust pattern.

So which item(s) did I keep?

I splurged and kept the pants and the skirt! So ironic since I really needed tops. But these two pieces fit too well to pass up, despite the painful price tags.

What do you think, did I make the right choice? What items would you have kept for yourself?
