Hard to believe it has been a year – A YEAR – since my last Stitch Fix. I received my last Fix right before we went on our honeymoon cruise in April 2013. I actually tried to order a Fix right before I went to Alt Summit in January but Stitch Fix was booked up for a month! I guess they have become quite popular since I last ordered! I’m not surprised … Stitch Fix is an awesome program.
To refresh your memory, Stitch Fix sends you clothing and accessories to try on and either keep or send back. You pay a $20 styling fee per Stitch Fix shipment, and that $20 gets applied to any items you want to keep. If you don’t want any of the items, you can send them all back but you lose your $20 styling fee.
A couple changes I noticed since my last Fix a year ago. Your Fix now comes with a very personalized note from your stylist. Before the note would read “I thought you might like these! From, ::stylist name::.” This time the note was way more detailed, with a little explanation about why each item was picked. Another change is the style suggestions for each piece are no longer attached to the clothing item, but instead printed and attached to your style note. MUCH easier to try the clothes on without the bulky plastic tag, and I love that you can keep the style suggestions for the pieces you send back. If you like a certain look but maybe the piece of clothing wasn’t perfect, you can try to recreate it. So, two thumbs up from me, Stitch Fix.
But enough chatter! Here’s what I got in Fix #3.
Under Skies – Breena Floral Print Sleeveless Blouse
The top had a pretty print but a little bold for me. Also, it felt like I was wearing a tent.
Kensie Jeans – Johnny Skinny Jeans
It’s so difficult for me to find jeans that fit, and these fit wonderfully! As I get older I find I love stretchy material more and more. These jeans were seriously comfortable. I wish that they were a slightly different shade because I already own skinny jeans in pretty much this exact shade.

Splendid – Ruben Tab-Sleeve Open Cardigan
This cardigan was a very light material, and I generally think sweaters this light are kind of pointless. I get that some pieces are just for fashion, but I kind of need it to be practical, too. And at $78 this cardigan was just not doing it for me. I admit that I liked the way it looked on me, and I actually liked the floral tank a lot more when it was paired with the cardigan.
Papermoon – Waters Diamond Print Maxi Dress
Overall I loved this maxi dress. I would probably walk right by it at the store. The dark shade means it’s slimming and I really liked the geometric pattern.
Trying the dress with the cardigan … I’m warming up to the cardigan, I gotta say.
Bay to Baubles – Alhambra Embellished Triangle Chain Dangle Earrings
Finally, these statement earrings which are very pretty but since I’m a Cookie Lee jewelry rep, I’m generally always going to pass on the Stitch Fix jewelry.

Of course I had to keep the jeans! Finding a great pair of jeans is such a struggle for me, and whenever my weight fluctuates ever so slightly I have to dig out an old pair. (Yes, I have “fat” jeans and “skinny” jeans. Don’t act like you don’t.) Needless-to-say, I love the stretch in these jeans and they are so soft and comfy. The jeans pair well with my new favorite kicks – boots from Crocs (yes, those are Crocs, and they are amazing).
I was inspired by two other items in my Stitch Fix, which I didn’t keep. The floral top and the white cardigan. I couldn’t afford to keep these two items, and I didn’t completely love them anyway. But I loved the idea of them. So I hit up Old Navy and got a floral print boho top and an ivory cardigan for a total of $30! Can’t beat it! And these two items are much more fitting for me, and I know I’ll get a ton of use from them.
I also kept the maxi dress! I love maxi dresses and I just couldn’t pass it up. I’ve found it’s tough to find flattering maxi dresses, because most I’ve found don’t have a cinched waist. This one was great, and I really liked the pattern.
I paired it with my aqua jean jacket from Forever 21 and croquet slip-ons from Old Navy. Perfect!
