Megan and Dave wanted to have add some Disney love to their engagement photos, captured by her aunt Judy Howard, so they grabbed their Mickey and Minnie ears and went to Olds College, in Alberta Canada, with their son for an engagement/family photo shoot!  The results are super adorable.

Megan also shared a little bit about their love story ….

“Dave and I met in grade 4 when I moved and went to the elementary school that he was attending. We became friends and then decided in grade 6 that we wanted to be boyfriend and girlfriend. We dated through grade 6 and into grade 7. Dave tells me now that I ignored him for the entire summer between school sessions, and though I don’t remember doing that, it sounds about right. We broke up in grade 7 and went our separate ways and kept running into each other throughout the years since then. We were friends for a long time and about two years ago, after many long conversations and a lot of build up, we decided to give dating a try again. I went from being very single and independent to “seeing” Dave, to being exclusive, to officially being in a relationship all within a span of one weekend. We fell in love quite fast, and Dave always bugs me that he knew all along that he wanted to be with me and just had to wait patiently for me to come to the same realization.”

“My entire life, I always thought that I would have a huge wedding with all of the bells and whistles, but the older I got, the more I realized that it was important for me to have an intimate wedding with just my family and close friends there. Of course a destination wedding is perfect for this, so Dave and I started talking about different options. At our little engagement celebration, my dad joked about getting married at Disneyland since I have always loved Disney and I am a total kid at heart. Dave has a 5 year old son Maddox (who will not put down his Mickey Mouse ears), so turning our wedding week into a family vacation made Disney even that much more appealing to me (Dave and Maddox have never been to Disney before). I thought there was no possible way we’d be able to afford a Disneyland wedding but the more we looked into it, the more realistic it became. We talked to our bridal parties and family to ensure that they could all afford to travel for our wedding and then moved fast on booking it. We got engaged on November 1st and had booked and signed our contract by December 15th. We are so excited to be able to make this a very special event for Maddox, and to include him to the fullest in our day, as he is a part of both of us. I may have been a bit overzealous in planning the week of, as we are doing a baseball game, Legoland, Disneyland, and Disney’s California Adventure (not to mention a wedding thrown in there), but I do believe in making the most of every opportunity so we are going all out!”

Thanks for sharing your story and photos with us, Megan and Dave!  And congrats on your upcoming Disneyland wedding!
