Today we have an awesome guest post from Disney Bride Victoria!  Victoria and Brian were married in an Escape wedding at Disneyland in September 2011.  (You can see photos from their wedding here.)  Then in early 2012 they went on their honeymoon in Walt Disney World!  I asked Victoria to tell us about an especially magical day during their honeymoon to show that, yes, Disney is great for just adults, too!  Thanks, Victoria!

Hello Everyone! I’m Victoria and my husband’s name is Brian. In September 2011 we had our ideal Disneyland wedding.  We decided to wait until after the hubbub of the holidays had subsided to take our
honeymoon, which helped us focus on relaxing and enjoying our trip because there wasn’t much to stress about while we were on vacation. We looked into non-Disney options for our honeymoon, but ended up deciding on Walt Disney World after researching other locations. Visiting the “other” Disney Park in Florida had been a dream of mine since I was little, and Brian – wonderful husband that he is – was excited to cap off our Disneyland wedding with a Walt Disney World honeymoon! I’d read several honeymoon trip reports from past Disney brides, which alleviated my worries about whether a Disney vacation could be more than just about touring the parks. So, not only did we have a dream vacation, we got to “celebrate” our wedding
at Walt Disney World in June 2012. I did a TON of research before we left for our trip. I read about everything from hotels, to touring strategies, to restaurants, and I’m so glad I did – Walt Disney World is so much bigger than Disneyland. All the research definitely helped, because we had the best trip! We stayed at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and we were able to walk to EPCOT, which was unintentionally strategic, because World Showcase ended up being one of our favorite places at Walt Disney World.

Our second evening at World Showcase included a fun dinner at Rose & Crown and some cast member “pixie dust.”

Our afternoon started out on a really bright note: we had a special delivery from Disney Floral and Gifts! We received an “international” themed gift basket from my family! It was so much fun to get a surprise present, and we really enjoyed all the goodies.

After digging though our yummy treats, we headed out of our hotel toward the International Gateway and World Showcase. We had a dinner reservation at Rose & Crown for later that evening. After entering the park we decided to start the evening touring through France, Morocco, Japan, and then the American Adventure.

We were heading into the American Adventure to take a peek when the cast member greeting us let us know the “Mr. and Mrs. had an important call,” and that we needed to head over to the nearby phone. We immediately got to speak with Mickey and Minnie, who congratulated us on our wedding! It was really cute! Once we’d finished our call, the cast member escorted us to the Liberty Inn Publick Dining Room and heralded the room a very loud “hear ye, hear ye…” announcement to congratulate us, followed by applause from the diners in the room. Then we got a delicious treat courtesy of the cast members – it was an awesome evening for yummy snacks!

Once we’d finished our treat, we started back toward the UK and Rose & Crown. Since we checked in a bit early, we decided to grab a pint in the pub and relax a bit. Our buzzer went off right as we were finishing our drinks, and we were led onto the patio to a table with a fabulous view of the World Showcase Lagoon!

We had a wonderful meal! Our waitress was great, the food and drinks were very good, and sitting on the patio enjoying the evening made for the perfect night. And, to top off our evening, our waitress timed our dessert to arrive right as Illuminations started!

Even though it wasn’t one of the most eventful evenings – and a lot of what made it so neat was a bit of luck, as well as awesome cast members – our night was awesome! We got to spend a relaxed evening together enjoying the “magic” that is Disney. This was just one of several wonderful evenings we enjoyed during our honeymoon at Walt Disney World, making us so glad we honeymooned there!
