July 17, 2014 was Disneyland’s 59th Anniversary, a very special day in its own right, but the focus this year was on what’s going to be happening NEXT year. Next year will be Disneyland’s diamond anniversary, the big 6-0, and I’m sure a lot of very special plans are in the works! On Thursday, the diamond anniversary logo was revealed:

I love the logo and I’m really hoping they will finally change up the Annual Pass image for 2015 with this beautiful logo. It has been a few years!

You can watch a short video of the unveiling of the new logo here:

Aside from the new logo, I’m sure we can expect some other fun “diamond” themed festivities … I’m sure there will be special diamond Mickey ears, a special fireworks show, and a sparkly castle overlay. I’m guessing Disneyland brides and grooms who do a morning castle shoot during this time period will have some extra special bling in their photos!

Disneyland’s diamond anniversary festivities officially will kick off in Spring 2015.

In addition to revealing the new logo, Disney Parks announced a cool new contest. They are looking for your photos from Disneyland through the decades, starting with the 1950s! Share them on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #Disneyland60Contest. Disney will pick their five favorites from each decade and then Disney Parks Blog readers will get to vote for their favorite. The ultimate winner will receive an expenses paid trip to Disneyland to celebrate on July 17, 2015! For more information, check out the Disney Parks Blog.

What are you looking forward to for #Disneyland60?
