Hello! Welcome to my Blogging and Income Report for May 2017! May was a challenging month but a great one, and I can’t wait to share my numbers with you! I can’t believe how fast the year is flying by and how much I’m getting done. It feels really great!
Blogging and Income Report – May 2017
I worked on a big project in May – more on that below – and that was really my only goal, aside from trying to get back into a “normal” schedule after traveling so much in April. I published 21 articles in May and I’m pretty happy with that.
Stats wise, May was pretty cruddy. I was down across the board, even with getting a bit of a boost with my articles about the Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings TV special. It’s not fun but blogging is a world of ups and downs, so I’ll just take it as motivation to try to do better next month.
My top referral sources for May – Google, Pinterest, Direct traffic, Facebook, and Bing.
One thing that’s concerning is my Pinterest traffic dropped way down for May, by 40% compared to April. So, something to keep an eye on.
Other May Happenings
In May we celebrated our five year wedding anniversary! Difficult to believe five years have gone by already. To celebrate this milestone we stayed in the Fairy Tale Suite at the Disneyland Hotel – a dream come true for me.
Here’s what I earned in May 2017. I list the earnings by network, and then state the specific brands/shops in parenthesis. If I didn’t make any money through a specific affiliate channel, I will leave it off the list (all those zeros could get depressing)!
(Keep in mind this is just money I’m making through my websites. I also have a few other part time jobs which I am not including here.)
Affiliates (some of the links below contain my affiliate code)
Amazon – $86.70
ShopSense – $3.28
Share-a-Sale – $121.12 (Wayfair)
Awin – $140.96(Etsy)
CJ – $1.86 (Disney Store)
Pepperjam – $2.05 (Shutterfly)
Escalate – $14.40 (Disney Vacation DVD)
Moolah Courses – $949.60
Total revenue for May 2017 = $1977.76.
– Total revenue the previous month = $1316.32.
– Difference: $661.44
As you can see, nearly half of this month’s revenue came from the Moolah course affiliate. You’ve read about this in past reports, but the Moolah course is a Facebook Growth Strategies course that I promote and highly recommend. It opens every few months and it had a big launch in May, which I heavily promoted by creating my OWN companion course for anyone who signed up with my link. I spent a lot of time creating this companion course and promoting the heck out of it, and it seems to have paid off!
The bad news is, this is only a temporary boost in revenue, and my numbers will drop back down in June, but isn’t it exciting? It’s giving me extra motivation to create and sell my own courses.
Things I need to work on:
I’m halfway through June and it’s already proving to be a challenging month. I have been having some problems with my site’s host storage and need to go through and delete some duplicate and unnecessarily files. It’s such a boring job, and one I’ve been putting off for a year and a half, but the time has come to do it. So unfortunately that means less new content in June while I spend my time doing clean up. More about this in next month’s report!
That’s it for now! Thank you for reading. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll try my best to answer! I also would like to know if the information I’m providing is helpful or what else you would want to see/learn from an income report. Let me know how I can help you! Have a great month, everyone!
