Hello! Welcome to my Blogging and Income Report for April 2016! This year continues to fly by …. every time I’m putting these reports together, I feel like I just did the last one yesterday. Please slow down, time! I can’t keep up!
Blogging and Income Report – April 2016
This is my second full month after my rebrand, and at this point it’s difficult to even remember what my two old blogs looked like! Everything feels so natural; I’m just so happy with my decision to rebrand. I’m continuing to try to be better with pumping out content on a regular basis, and cleaning up the formatting on my older posts. And even though my numbers were a bit down this month, my revenue held steady, which is the important number!
My traffic dipped a bit this month compared to last month, which was expected. In March I had an article go a bit viral around St. Patrick’s Day, so April was a bit womp-womp in comparison. Still pleased with this month’s numbers but would love to see a steady incline going forward.
My top referral sources for April – Google, direct traffic, Pinterest, Facebook, and old URL traffic. My Google referrals seem to be increasing which is good; hopefully that number will continue to increase. As for Pinterest – it seems their reporting problem was corrected in mid-April but my referral number is still super low. I’m hoping this is temporary and it goes back up in May!
Other April Happenings
April was a busy month, with a few trips to Disneyland for Food & Wine Festival, a weekend in Palm Springs, and hosting our in-laws for a week, and I also had jury duty for two days! I’m happy I still managed to get a lot of blog posts up despite all the distractions.
Here’s what I earned in April 2016. I list the earnings by network, and then state the specific brands/shops in parenthesis. If I didn’t make any money through a specific affiliate channel, I will leave it off the list (all those zeros could get depressing)!
(Keep in mind this is just money I’m making through my websites. I also have a few other part time jobs which I am not including here.)
Sponsored Content – $150
Sponsored Tweets (Izea) – $8
Affiliates (some of the links below contain my affiliate code)
Total revenue for April 2016 = $993.34.
– Total revenue the previous month = $950.07.
– Difference: $43.27
Another really strong month that I’m really happy about. I got my first post-rebranding sponsored campaign, which feels good considering I had a longer than expected dry spell. My Etsy revenue keeps increasing; I don’t know how long those big numbers will last but I’m enjoying it!
Things I need to work on:
May is a CRAZY month for me – I’m traveling to Chicago for a conference, New York City for a wedding, then off to Hawaii for vacation. My goal for May is to just keep my head above water! And hopefully schedule some content for when I’m away so there won’t be crickets around here.
That’s it for now! Thank you for reading. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll try my best to answer! I also would like to know if the information I’m providing is helpful or what else you would want to see/learn from an income report. Let me know how I can help you! Have a great month, everyone!
